Article - Kickstarter and the Rich

Today in gaming: there's a fantastic article in the Toronto Standard about why giving money to Zach Braff and the Veronica Mars people via Kickstarter is a bad idea. The article is written by Alan Jones.

In it, Jones calls upon Kickstarter to prevent wealthy members from abusing the system. While I disagree with the word abusing, I also disagree with the idea that Kickstarter should or would do anything to stop this. Kickstarter takes a cut of every dollar that's donated online. If Braff raises $2 million for his project, then they get somewhere in the neighborhood of $100,000. No one in their right mind would stop that kind of pork from coming in.
